Our data

Effective prospecting rests on a database that is constantly kept up to date. Here is the data murmur collects, where it comes from and how it is enriched. Our stock of URLs covers 160 countries and keeps expanding.

In numbers

Where our numbers come from.

A big number impresses; an explained number convinces. Here is exactly what our database contains, how it is built, and what is genuinely actionable for your prospecting.

Live figures from our database as of 14/09/2026.

4,026,069,687 business listings collected from Google Maps
Our crawlers continuously read public Google Maps listings, country by country, category by category: name, activity, website, phone, location. Nothing else — no personal data. The same business often shows up several times, across several searches.
61,445,642 unique web addresses in the database
All sources combined: Google Maps listings that declare a website, the AFNIC registry of .fr domains, the official registers of seven European countries, and web crawl data. Every address is normalised: one row per site, however many listings point to it.
22,161,784 active, verified websites
Every address gets visited: dead domains, parked pages and empty shells are discarded. What remains are sites that respond with real content — the ones we can analyse and personalise for.
21,790,072 domains scanned for a contact form
The scan runs continuously and this figure grows every week. We explore each site page by page: locating the form, recording CAPTCHAs, classifying what we find — contact, quote, newsletter, booking, login.
4,296,279 confirmed contact forms
The number that actually matters: a contact or quote form that our crawlers found, classified and located on the page — ready to receive your message. Not an estimate, not an extrapolation: one verified form per site.
12,787,242 published email addresses
Addresses businesses display publicly on their own websites. The second channel: used where the form is missing, wherever B2B email prospecting is lawful.
28,585,085 cross-referenced legal identities
SIRENE in France, official registers elsewhere: legal name, VAT, headcount, incorporation date. What it takes to target accurately and personalise properly.

Why is “only” 35% of the base scanned? Because this counter only includes what is confirmed: an unreachable site, a newsletter form or a blocking CAPTCHA do not count. We prefer a smaller, true number to a big, fuzzy one.

Non-intrusive enrichment

Every URL in the database is enriched to allow finer targeting and sharper AI personalisation. No intrusive profiling: murmur only uses public professional data.

Identity

URL, domain name, title, site description, language.

Activity

Industry, main category, extracted keywords, positioning signals.

Geolocation

Country, region, department, city, postcode, and GPS coordinates where available.

Contact

Public email, phone, contact form, field structure.

Legal identifiers

SIRET, NAF code, legal name, cross-matched with Sirene INSEE.

Online presence

Linked social accounts, Google Maps profile (place_id), public reviews.

Quality

Site activity score, freshness of the last crawl, CMS type.

Where our data comes from

All our sources are public, legal and documented. No personal data scraping, no leaks, no opaque third-party purchases.

AFNIC

The official registry of `.fr` domains, ~9.5 million domains imported, of which ~2.4 million active, genuinely useful sites after verification and dedup. The backbone of our French professional web coverage.

Google Maps

Respectful scraping of Google Maps results, 19 million business listings across 35 countries. Geographic coverage of brick-and-mortar businesses: craftsmen, shops, restaurants, liberal professions.

Common Crawl

Open web archive (~250 billion indexed pages), from which we retain 14.5 million B2B domains country by country, especially useful for markets where Google Maps is less dense (Germany, UK).

Sirene INSEE & official registries

INSEE official open data, 17 million establishments for SIRET / industry code / legal name matching, updated monthly. Complemented by the official UK (Companies House), Norwegian (Brønnøysund) and Irish (CRO) registries: 7.6 million additional companies.

Continuous updates

An outdated database kills a campaign. murmur runs three mechanisms to stay current:

  • Continuous crawling, Our workers run 24/7 to discover new sites and re-check the ones already in our database.
  • Closure detection, Any company struck off the register (monthly Sirene check) and any site gone inactive are automatically removed.
  • Re-enrichment, Whenever a change is detected on an existing site (new activity, redesign), its tags are updated accordingly.

Turn our verified data into your qualified leads

murmur starts from your targeting and turns our URLs into qualified replies with its AI.
